Thanks to you, Dental Brigades is changing lives, in Honduras!

Our dental brigades initiative is still going strong! And it’s all thanks to you!

Since our April mission to Honduras, the impact of your generosity has continued to grow. Due to the incredible support from our patients, team members, trusted lab and specialist partners, and our dental offices, we not only met our last-minute fundraising goal, we surpassed it by an amazing $4,000 CAD (that’s 74,000 Honduran Lempiras!).

This extra support made a real difference. During the mission, Dr. Patricia saw firsthand the shortage of functioning dental equipment, which prevented her and other dentists from providing the full range of treatments patients needed. She shared this concern with both the local team and the administrative team at Dental Brigades Canada, and together they decided to use the additional donations to purchase essential equipment.

That investment has now been made and it has dramatically increased the capacity of both local and visiting teams to serve patients. More cleanings. More fillings. More healthy smiles in the communities that need it most. The extra $4000 went a very long way! Here’s what your generosity helped purchase:

• 4 portable dental units

• 1 compressor

• 4 low-speed handpieces

• 4 high-speed handpieces

• 1 portable suction unit

As Dr. Patricia shared: “We went into this mission determined to help underprivileged communities with much-needed dental care. Thanks to the support from our community here in Canada, we not only achieved our goal, we left behind a legacy, equipping other professionals to serve these communities for years to come. This is a powerful reminder that when dental professionals, patients, and partners come together, we can create real change, no matter where.”

Seeing the impact this mission has had, both on the communities we served and on our team, we are already preparing for our next adventure. Mark your calendars: in September 2026, we plan to partner with Amigo da Vez and Generous Hearts to bring medical and dental care to a few communities in the Northeast of Brazil.
